K-wire बसवल्यानंतरची रुग्ण-काळजी 1. ड्रेसिंग आणि जखमेची स्वच्छता जिथे K-wire बाहेर आलेली असते, त्या ठिकाणी दररोज स्वच्छ आणि कोरडी ड्रेसिंग ठेवावी. डॉक्टरांनी सांगितलेल्या प्रमाणे antiseptic solution (उदा. Betadine) वापरावा. ड्रेसिंग ओलं झालं तर लगेच बदलावं. जखमेजवळ लालसरपणा, पू, किंवा सूज दिसल्यास त्वरित डॉक्टरांना दाखवावं. 2. हात-पायाची हालचाल आणि स्थिरता फ्रॅक्चरच्या ठिकाणी plaster किंवा splint असेल तर ती काढू नये. वायर लावलेल्या भागावर जास्त दाब, वजन किंवा हालचाल टाळावी. फिजिओथेरपी डॉक्टरांनी सांगितल्यावरच सुरू करावी. 3. संसर्ग टाळणे K-wire चं टोक जर बाहेर असेल तर त्याभोवती स्वच्छता राखणं अत्यंत महत्त्वाचं. हात स्वच्छ धुऊनच ड्रेसिंग करावी. डॉक्टरांनी दिलेली antibiotic आणि painkiller औषधे वेळेवर घ्यावीत. 4. K-wire काढण्याची वेळ साधारण 3 ते 6 आठवड्यांनंतर (हाडं जुळल्यावर) डॉक्टर K-wire काढतात. काढताना सामान्यतः मोठा त्रास होत नाही, आणि स्थानिक अ‍ॅनेस्थेशियाखाली (local anesthesia) हे केलं जातं. Patient Care After K-wire Fixation 1. Dressing and Wound Care Keep the area where the K-wire comes out clean and dry with regular dressing. Use antiseptic solution (like Betadine) as advised by your doctor. If the dressing becomes wet or dirty, change it immediately. If you notice redness, swelling, pus, or discharge around the pin site, consult your doctor right away. 2. Movement and Stability If you have a plaster or splint, do not remove it unless advised. Avoid pressure, weight-bearing, or excessive movement over the operated area. Start physiotherapy only after your doctor recommends it. 3. Preventing Infection Since the end of the K-wire may be outside the skin, maintaining hygiene around it is very important. Always wash your hands before touching or cleaning the area. Take the prescribed antibiotics and painkillers on time. 4. K-wire Removal K-wires are usually removed after 3 to 6 weeks, once the bone has healed. Removal is generally simple and done under local anesthesia, causing minimal discomfort. 5.
